"Please note that any contributions you make to this site immediately belong to datacrystal.org" - does this not seem to conflict with the FDL? --Labmaster Talk 03:30, 20 Oct 2005 (EDT)

I think the intention of that comment was to state that submissions cannot be withdawl. Then again, Gau wrote it, not me. --AnyoneEB 06:08, 20 Oct 2005 (EDT)
Indeed, that was the intention, and furthermore, my original text did not say "belong to datacrystal.org", but rather "become associated with" datacrystal.org.--Gau 07:29, 20 Oct 2005 (EDT)

There's no denying that this needs a major revision, however I'm unsure about the direction in which we should take this. On one hand, it is important that we make our information accessible. On the other hand, it is also important that we protect the site from those who would claim information on datacrystal as "theirs". (Datacrystal has dealt with this in the past, thus the language of the disclaimer; it was created as somewhat of a reactionary statement.) Furthermore, I'm inclined to wonder whether the FDL is actually fully compatible with the nature of our site; more input and discussion on this subject is certianly warranted. --Gau 07:57, 20 Oct 2005 (EDT)
