In the ROM hack "Religious Blackjack" the player controls a gambler who goes to the first legal casino in Utah. Instead of card decks, they deal hell fires for the sinners. Instead of blackjack, either the sinner or the dealer draws damnation (21) which makes the person who holds that hand the winner (and maybe a loser on the next hand.)
The idea for this game was inspired when the ROM hacker and his grandmother were having a heated discussion about the morality of the lottery and gambling in particular. The ROM hacker told his grandmother that God didn't want her to gamble with money that could be used to buy fancy clothes and name brand soft drinks instead of generic at the supermarket. The grandmother get very upset and started to defend the corrupt system and the corrupt lottery and gaming association.
So the next day, RyanVG made this ROM hack to show the world that gambling is wrong and that we should close all the casinos in the world and turn them into either new shopping malls for the masses or mega video arcade complexes for the kids (because the children are our future, not a bunch of adults with gambling problems). And while playing this game, please remember this little simile: Gambling is to smut as racism is to swearing.
